Fractional & Interim CEO
A CEO who has run the company, in the seat when it can't sit empty
Everest Advisors puts an experienced CEO in the top seat when yours is open or overloaded. Our people have run companies. They step in and lead from the first week, not after a quarter of study.
Companies call us at hard moments. A CEO leaves suddenly and the calendar doesn’t wait. A board needs a steady hand while it runs a search. A turnaround needs someone who has managed cash and hard decisions. A sale is coming and the company needs a leader who can carry it through diligence and close.
We work in three models. Fractional means ongoing, part-time leadership for a company that doesn’t need a full-time CEO yet. Interim means full-time leadership for a defined stretch, usually through a gap or a transition. Project-based means a specific mandate with a clear end, such as a sale, a raise, or an integration.
What a fractional or interim CEO from Everest delivers
We stabilize the company and lead it forward. That means holding the organization steady, running it day to day, and preparing it for whatever comes next. Here is what that looks like in practice.
Leadership and direction. We steady the leadership team on day one and set a clear direction the company can act on. People need to know who is in charge and where the company is headed, and we make that plain.
Operating cadence. We run a real operating rhythm and hold the team accountable to it. Goals, metrics, and a regular meeting cadence keep the company moving while we’re in the seat.
Board and investor communication. We keep the board and investors informed with straight, timely reporting. Directors and backers get a leader they can call, and they get the truth about what’s working and what isn’t.
Turnaround and cash oversight. We take direct control of cash and hard operating decisions when the situation calls for it. If the company is under pressure, we manage liquidity, cut what needs cutting, and protect the core.
Transactions. We lead the company through a sale, a raise, or an integration. We’ve sat across the table in these deals, and we carry the process from preparation to close.
Succession and handoff. We prepare the company for a permanent CEO, help recruit that person, and hand off cleanly. Our job is to make ourselves unnecessary and leave the company in better shape than we found it.
Why companies bring in an Everest CEO
We’ve held the seat, so we lead from experience, not theory. Everest CEOs are operators who have carried the weight of the top job, not consultants who advise from the side.
Hands-on from day one. We start leading in the first week, with no long discovery period. Our people know how to read a company fast because they’ve run companies before.
A team behind us. Every Everest CEO is backed by a team of more than 25 experienced leaders across finance, operations, marketing, and human resources. If the company needs a fractional CFO or a marketing lead alongside the CEO, we bring that in.
Built to graduate. We come in to lead through a defined period and to hand the company to a permanent hire. We measure our work by how ready the company is when we leave.
Proof
A post-emergence EV charging company came to us with no finance function and no management infrastructure. We stepped in, implemented an ERP and reporting structures, and mentored the new president as the company found its footing. Revenue is projected to grow more than 6x year over year.
That work shows the pattern. We build what’s missing, lead the people in place, and set the company up to run without us.
When to bring us in
Call us when the top seat is open, at risk, or carrying more than one person can hold. That includes a sudden CEO departure, a board that wants a steady hand during a search, a turnaround that needs firm cash and operating control, a company preparing for a sale or a raise, and a founder ready to step back from daily leadership. The earlier we’re in the room, the more we can do.
