Fractional & Interim CFO
A CFO who has done the job, in the seat when you need one
Most companies hit a point where the finance function can no longer keep up with the business. The books are late. The forecast is a guess. The board wants answers the team can’t produce yet. You don’t need a consultant to study the problem. You need someone who has run the function before to step in and fix it.
That’s what we do. Our Managing Directors have sat in the CFO seat at companies through growth, capital events, and transitions. We’ve closed the books, built the model, and answered to the board. When we join your team, you get that judgment from day one, at the level of involvement the moment calls for, without the cost or commitment of a permanent hire.
We work three ways: fractional, when you need senior finance leadership a few days a week; interim, when a seat is open and the work can’t wait; and project-based, when there’s a defined job to finish. We’re hands-on from the start, and we scale down as the infrastructure we build takes hold.
What a fractional or interim CFO from Everest delivers
FP&A and business decisions. Budgets, forecasts, and 13-week cash flow models that drive real operating decisions. EBITDA optimization and working capital acceleration. KPI dashboards and a board-ready reporting cadence. Strategic finance support at capital events and growth inflection points.
Accounting delivery. Month-end close, accruals, and flux analysis on a cadence the board can rely on. Full-cycle AP, AR, payroll, and intercompany, so the books stay clean. GAAP-compliant policies, internal controls, and audit-ready documentation. AI-driven automation that shortens close cycles and surfaces anomalies before they become problems.
Finance process and systems. ERP selection, implementation, and rescue of conversions that went sideways. Process redesign that removes manual touchpoints and rework. Internal controls and segregation-of-duties frameworks. Working capital and cash conversion improvements that free up cash you already have.
We also bring treasury advisory for capital structure, banking, and risk, and public-company readiness for IPO, SPAC, and uplisting preparation, SEC reporting, and the controls that come with being public.
Technology that fits your stage
We bring modern finance tooling calibrated to where you are, not a stack built for a company three sizes larger. Early-stage companies get a lightweight, cost-effective foundation. As complexity grows, we add automation, reporting depth, and compliance tooling. Companies approaching an exit or an IPO get enterprise systems and institutional-grade reporting. We’ve deployed NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Datarails, Ramp, FloQast, Rippling, and more than twenty others, and we apply AI to forecasting, close, and reconciliation where it earns its place.
Proof
A post-emergence EV charging company came to us with no formal finance function and no management infrastructure. We implemented an ERP and reporting structures, mentored the new president, and led a pivot of the SaaS component from in-house to outsourced. Revenue is projected to grow more than 6x year over year at strong gross margins, with the financial infrastructure in place to scale with discipline.
A fast-growing footwear brand was running at roughly $100M with controls that couldn’t support the expansion ahead. We built out the finance team, tightened controls, and developed new forecasting and inventory planning models. Revenue scaled from $100M to $600M over five years, on financial systems built to match.
When to bring us in
You’re heading into a capital raise or a sale and the numbers need to hold up to scrutiny. Your close takes too long and the board is flying blind. An ERP conversion stalled. Your CFO seat is open and the work can’t wait for a search. Or you’re simply at the point where the finance function needs someone who has done this before to lead it.
Let's talk
If your numbers aren’t giving you decisions you can act on, we should talk. We’ve sat in your seat. Now we’re in your corner.
