Biography
Alan Crunkleton is a medical device and clinical AI executive with over 35 years of experience building companies from concept through commercialization, establishing regulatory approvals, reimbursement channels, and global distribution. As Managing Director at Everest Advisors, he provides strategic leadership to healthcare and life sciences companies navigating go-to-market strategy, regulatory pathways, and capital formation.
As Interim CEO of MayaMD, a clinical AI company, Alan established go-to-market readiness and strategy for technology that engages patients and empowers providers to improve quality and reduce cost of care. As Cofounder, President and CEO of Correx, Inc., he led development and commercial introduction of a new implantable device for the treatment of aortic valve stenosis, achieving CE Mark for three Class III devices without clinical investigation and building distribution across 22 countries through 18 distributors.
As President and CEO of TriFoil Imaging, Alan led the multiyear turnaround of this private equity-owned preclinical imaging company, replacing the executive team, discontinuing unprofitable product lines, and completing development of an industry-changing new product. He started his career by spinning his PhD work out of MIT to commercialize cryogenic refrigeration for MRI systems at Boreas, Inc., where he raised over $6 million in venture capital and led the company through acquisition.
Alan holds an MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He serves as an instructor and mentor for LA BioStart at Cal State University.
