Biography

Alexander Tang is a seasoned finance executive, venture investor, and family office leader with over twenty years of experience guiding families, founders, and funds through complex capital structures and transformative growth initiatives. As a CFO, venture investor, and family office leader, he brings a unique blend of boardroom fluency, disciplined capital allocation, and strategic foresight, having overseen portfolios generating $2.0B+ in revenue, managed $600MM+ in trust assets, and underwritten 28 direct investments resulting in multiple public exits and over $8.4B in shareholder value.

As Managing Director at Everest Advisors, LLC, Alex provides fractional CFO consulting to middle-market companies, family offices, and investor-backed ventures. He leads financial analyses, governance design, and strategy, working closely with boards and senior leaders to clarify performance, mitigate risk, and align operations with long-term strategic goals across sectors including SaaS, energy, healthcare, consumer products, and climate innovation. 

Alex’s board accomplishments include structuring an $11MM energy fund with 84% tax deduction benefits, presenting audits and compliance results, and managing assets with strict regulatory adherence. He has led investments resulting in seven IPOs and strategic M&A exits including CLEAR, Owlet Baby Care, Tomo Therapy, and Infoblox.  

His board service spans current roles with the Illinois Tech Stuart School of Business Board of Advisors and the Chicago Booth Alumni Club (South Florida), along with prior leadership at the Licensing Executive Society and the Association for Corporate Growth (Chicago). He served as a Clean Technology Catalyst for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation for a decade. 

Alex holds an MBA from Chicago Booth and dual engineering degrees from the University of Illinois, and is highly qualified for Audit, Finance, and Investment Committee roles—balancing financial governance with entrepreneurial agility to drive lasting impact.
